Have You Been Screened For Oral Cancer

If the answer is no, visit Bella Smiles for your routine oral cancer screening. Dr. Sal Lotardo is an experienced, trusted dentist in Riverhead, NY. Dr. Lotardo is committed to health and wellness of each of our patients. Oral cancer screenings are a routine part of your comprehensive exam. The goal of a comprehensive exam to spot any dysfunction in the teeth, mouth, and gums. Identifying complex dental problems in their early stages allows patients a wider variety of treatment options.

If you haven’t been screened for oral cancer in the past six months, please consider visiting Bella Smiles. We have two conveniently located dental practices in Riverhead, NY and Roslyn, NY.

Oral Cancer Screening

Family dentist Dr. Lotardo recommends that patients schedule a preventive care visit every six months. Preventive care visits allow Dr. Lotardo to examine the mouth for any early signs of dysfunction. If oral cancer is suspected, we can work with you to coordinate a biopsy to determine if the abnormal cells are cancerous.

An oral cancer screening is a quick and painless procedure that takes about 2-4 minutes out of your comprehensive exam. Dr. Lotardo will visually and physically examine the mouth for sores, lesions, abnormal growths, lumps, or red or white patches in the oral cavity. Although oral cancer screenings aren’t guaranteed to save lives, it can lead to an early diagnosis which may help you receive the treatment you need.

We also encourage patients to ask any questions they may have about oral cancer or their oral health. Our dental care team can help guide you to make better choices for your oral health and help find ways to lower your oral cancer risks. Our team at Bella Smiles is committed to helping you achieve a healthy, functional smile through personalized, comprehensive family dental care. To learn more, please visit our Riverhead, NY or Roslyn, NY dental office. If you would like to schedule an appointment, you can schedule an appointment online.
