A denture is a custom prosthetic device that our dentists use to replace missing teeth. It can either be fixed in place or removable. If you have lost all or most of the arch of teeth from gum disease, tooth decay, or trauma to the mouth, you can replace them with a denture. Bella Smiles provides dentures in Riverhead, Roslyn, and Nesconset. Dentures are one of the restorative dentistry services our dentists provide to our patients in Long Island, NY.
No one needs to go through life missing any teeth. If you have an entire row of teeth missing, your face will begin to appear sunken in, adding years to your appearance. Replacing that arch of teeth will fill out the shape of your face, giving you a more balanced and normal appearance. Getting a denture can help you smile, eat, and speak with greater confidence and comfort.
Our dentists suggest full dentures to replace a full top or bottom arch of teeth. Traditional dentures are removable, but we can now secure a denture permanently with dental implants. Implant-supported dentures have many added benefits for your oral health and quality of life. They’re the next best thing to your natural teeth.

Types of Dentures
Bella Smiles in Riverhead, Roslyn, and Nesconset offers natural-looking cosmetic dentures. We can also secure them with dental implants using the All-On-4 implant method.
Dentures are sets of false teeth that will replace all your lost teeth. Although dentures have long been removable appliances, today’s patients can enjoy the benefits of fixed dentures. This includes secure teeth, a varied diet, and normal speech. Options include:
- Partial Denture: Similar to a dental bridge, a partial denture can replace several consecutive missing teeth. We can provide temporary removable partial dentures or permanently secure them to your mouth using dental implants.
- Full Dentures: Full Dentures can replace the entire upper or lower arch of teeth, or both arches. Removable dentures have come a long way. Our complete dentures provide beautiful results using quality materials. Dr. Pop will recommend choosing implant-supported dentures for the most stable and healthiest result.
- Implant Dentures: These types of dentures are sometimes called All-on-4 dental implants. Our dentist attaches them to the jaw using strategically placed dental implants. Dental implant-secured dentures provide the highest rate of patient satisfaction.
Contact our office if you have rows or arches of missing teeth. Our local dentist Dr. Diana Pop will work with you to decide the best option for your overall health and cosmetic concerns.
Implant-Secured Dentures
Dr. Pop can permanently secure your new cosmetic denture or partial denture to your mouth using dental implants. You will get superior results when compared to traditional dentures with the All-on-4® dental implant procedure. The procedure provides several key benefits for both overall health and lifestyle:
- Reduce bone loss and shrinkage in the jaw
- No slipping or fear of teeth falling out
- You can eat a healthy diet
- Normal speech for confidence in social settings
- No need for the use of daily adhesives
If you’re receiving an implant-secured denture, we work with an oral surgeon who’ll surgically insert the dental implants into the jaw bone. They need about 3 to 6 months to heal all the way. We may also place a temporary denture to protect the gum tissue during the healing process.
Once your implants heal, we’ll take impressions of your teeth to make a custom denture. Then we permanently attach it to the implants for a secure hold. We perform all phases of the dental implant procedure in-house, from surgery to your final restoration.

Denture FAQs
Do you have more questions about treatment? We can help. Read answers to common questions about dentures and partials in Riverhead, Nesconset, and Roslyn, NY.
How long do dentures last?
Removable dentures usually last about 5 to 7 years. Over time, your gums and jawbone can change shape, which may cause them to feel loose or uncomfortable. When this happens, you need to readjust, reline, or replace your removable dentures.
Implant dentures can last much longer. The dental implants that hold them in place can last decades with good care, and the denture itself often lasts 10 to 15 years or more. Because implants help keep your jawbone strong, they also help your denture fit better over time.
Which type of denture is right for me?
To determine which type of denture is right for your smile, you will need to undergo a consultation with Dr. Pop. She’ll assess the condition of your teeth, gums, and supporting bone structure.
Today’s cosmetic dentures offer beautiful results for patients missing a full arch or all their teeth. Our experienced cosmetic and restorative dentists work with patients to achieve a result that meets their goals.
Can anyone qualify for implant-secured dentures?
In many cases, patients will need to have enough stable, healthy bone structure to get dental implants. You may need a bone graft if your jaw is not healthy or strong enough. If you have gum disease or cavities, we’ll ensure you’re infection-free before we place implants. Your gums and any remaining teeth need to be healthy for you to get dentures.
But we can discuss your options during your visit. We offer the All-On-Four procedure as a solution for edentulous patients with compromised bone tissue.
How do I clean implant dentures?
Cleaning implant dentures is simple and similar to caring for natural teeth. You should brush your implant-supported denture at least twice a day. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste. Pay special attention to the areas around the implants to remove plaque and food particles.
Also floss before you brush. You can use an interdental brush to keep the gums and bone healthy. Some patients use a water flosser to make this easier. Rinsing with an antibacterial mouthwash can help reduce bacteria and keep your mouth fresh.
Can I sleep in dentures?
You can wear your dentures while you sleep, although we do not suggest doing this every night. Sleeping with traditional dentures on can cause a sore jaw and gums in the morning. You can sleep in implant-secured dentures because they are not removable and are comfortable all the time.
Will my dentures look natural?
Yes, your dentures can look very natural. At Bella Smiles, we use high-quality, tooth-colored materials that match the appearance of natural teeth. Dr. Pop takes precise measurements of your mouth, including the shape and size of your jaw and remaining teeth, to create a denture that fits comfortably and looks realistic.
We also carefully select the shade of the prosthetic so it blends seamlessly with your smile and complements your facial features. The result is a denture that not only functions well but also looks natural.
